                        The weather was great and the field was freshly mowed. We had a great turn out today with lots of flying. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come for the club as everything is going ahead with great success in our endeavour to close the deal with the Council on our new field site. I will keep you up to date as things progress. So far we are in the final stages of acquiring the use of our 2 year temporary site and should have the tick of approval in a couple of weeks.....

I had my Boomerang out and for a change had a half dozen flights.

 

 

See I can fly it and not crash.....

 

 

The Prez got out the noisy guns with a great flight of his chopper

followed by a lucky escape when his throttle servo failed and

he had to sit and wait for the fuel to run out.

 

 

 

 

 

Some serious discussions about anything is the choice of the day.

It was great to see Jesse with his 100cc Extra.

Jesse put on a fantastic display of flying. It sure is fantastic to see in the air.

Who said flying has gone to the dogs. Sadie our latest member was relaxing after

all the action. There was a lot to take in.

Sorry to have to do this to you Domenic but the walk of shame is a bit of

a tradition around here. After the purchase of the boomerang today There was nothing left but to have a couple of test flights. Dam should have put them off until next week.

Well if it is too big to put inside what choice do you have. I bet this got a lot of

looks as you were heading down the road.

 

 

That was another great day for the CMAC team.

 

Hope the weather holds up and we can do it all again next week.

Well after a bit of re organising we have started to get some flying done. There has been a bit of a change to the field but with the rain and sun the grass has started to make our new temporary strip look quite good.

The weather seams to be coming good and today it was in our favour.

 

 

It looks like we have got this flying down to a regimented art form.

 

 

 

 

Obviously there is something happening here.

We will be holding our AGM on Saturday the 18th July 2pm at the field.

Please try to make it as we have a number of things to discuss plus the election

of new office bearers.

Anyone with anything they would like to sort out can have their time at the meeting.

We really do need to get together so that we can organize our club's future direction.

We have to decide what our club membership fees will be as they are due now...

We have some very encouraging news to announce at the meeting.

BIG BOYS TOYS

 

Following a disappointing past few weeks which claimed our beautiful runways and

pits we have been forced to once again move ourselves along.

Luckily this time we are just down the opposite end of the farm and now we

can start the mowing and setup again.

We are currently in negotiations with the Council thrashing out another

temporary field that we can have without interruption until our permanent field is

finally available for us. 

 

In the mean time the Club was invited to participate in the Cairns Big Boys Toys expo being held at the Cairns Show Grounds. We displayed a lot of static aircraft and had James's Jet running on a number of times which surely impressed the crowds.

Talking about crowds. Wow. It was bigger than we had expected and our display drew in an extremely large amount of interest. It was great to see all the public enjoying our creations.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The weather was very unkind on Saturday and it rained on and off all day. We had to bunch all the tables up in the middle of the Marque and strategically position all the aircraft on them.

It didn't seam to dampen the crowds enthusiasm. Luckily the rain stayed away on Sunday.

 

 

 

The sound of the screaming turbine had people flock in to see what all the noise was about. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The raffles for the Quad Copters was a real hit. Here are the lucky winners being given their

winnings by the Prez Anthony.

 

 

 

The Weekend was a great success for us and gave our club a great deal of exposure. Even the Council Members showed a keener than usual interest so hopefully that will lead to more help towards our ongoing plight for a permanent home.

 

 

Many thanks to all those who lent a helping hand over the weekend. It is great to see the club working together, its really making a difference.

Next week we are back to a bit of flying at Mills road (weather Permitting). We can then start to plan the next step in our quest for a permanent home.

                                      Another glorious day and a great turn out of flyers.

 Billy on a rampage to get some flight time on his Cap in preparation for the Stang.

                                                                   

 

 You just can't beat the look of the mustang. Glamerous Glenn had a good engine run and taxi test just to tease us a little.

 

 

Greg had his Ultimate up for a fly and also attempted to get his Gyro up and flying.

Couldn't coax it into the air so maybe next week. 

 

 



Contrary to popular belief I do still fly. Hehehe

After sorting out the radio problems in the JR which appears to be just some dry solder

joints on the module board. After 3 expensive crashes I could only be game to fly the trainers.

 

I resurrected the old Classic after having it hang on the wall for several years.

A litre of CRC and a bit of fuel and away she went. It looks rough but flys so well.

 



 

Curtis had a bit of fun with his Astro hog.

 

 

 

 

Anthony showed no mercy with his boomerang.

 

 

 

 

And midget Su.

 



 

 

 

Jack had some success with his new Pc9 but had to sort out an engine starting problem first.

I think a new Glow plug is next on the list..

Great to see the arrangement of aircraft that Barry and his hanger had in stock.

 



 

 

This was an interesting Gyro that Barrie has not yet been able to get into the air.

 

Today it taxied the length of the strip superbly and still wouldn't lift off.

 

I think some modification to the blade angle is on the cards.

Next up was Michael with his um his um his taped up yellow thing.....

It flew perfectly until the thumbs got in the way and a 20g landing spelt rest time for the tape.

 



James had another successful solo with his boomerang.

 



 

 

Cameron and a litre of foam safe glue managed to tidy up the SkyMule...Again...

And after some dumb thumbing. The control rates proved to be just to excessive to handle.

As is tradition a wash up meeting held at the end of the day assured a great time was had by all.
